Reflecting on the Canadian and New Zealand anti-mandate protests - and a time to share

Hi,

I want to hear from you, which is what today’s newsletter is all about. But just quickly, some thoughts on these “trucker” protests in Canada and New Zealand.

I’ve been watching both countries anti-mandate protests from afar — obviously with a keen curiosity about New Zealand, as it’s my home. I have a vested, selfish interest. And in watching the protestors, I just keep coming back to the words of a professor I interviewed last year:

“Make up something fucking new, so that I can actually give a shit at this point! Because it is so boring, oh my God!”
