The last of Michael Organ? No.

Hi,

Note: I am not sending this out as an email – but did want to have it documented on the Webworm site (webworm.co, no longer on Substack).

I mentioned a few weeks ago that the subject of my 2022 documentary Mister Organ, Michael Organ, was moving into politics. At least at a fairly low key, local level.

The thought of being stuck at a town meeting with Michael Organ sends shivers down my spine, but I guess this is where we're at in 2025.

Anyway, here's his manifesto – fresh off the press.

Manifesto of Michael Organ

I am a local business owner-operator and company director with extensive commercial and life experience.

I support rigorously curtailing of rates, promising that I will not vote for any rates increase greater than the official inflation rate over the term of my office.

I commit to supporting the sensible and frugal allocation of Council resources always being conscious of the bottom line.

I support the provision of first hour free parking in our retail precinct and the lowering of parking meter fees.

The Sarjeant Gallery must earn it’s keep, no buts, starting with charging out of district visitors.

I support Whanganui's economic growth by promoting our district to potential businesses, and residents, highlighting our unique character, architecture, climate, and supportive community.

I support Council retaining control of our water supply and associated infrastructure.

I oppose mandatory fluoridation.

I oppose divisive race based water ownership and control.

I oppose divisive race based co-governance.

I oppose the driving of divisive extremist agendas by activist councillors.

I oppose wasting Council resources on divisive and conjectural international topics. That is not the business of Council.

I acknowledge and support our business persons, health and education sector workers, arts community, seniors, with a special callout to our farmers and other primary producers. They are vital to our District.

That image was his choice, by the way. Over on Facebook, some puzzling commentary from locals in Whanganui, New Zealand:

I particularly support his advocacy for free and affordable parking

"I particularly support his advocacy for free and affordable parking," is certainly one take. That account, and the others, appear to be fake bot accounts – most likely orchestrated by one Prince Michael Organski.
