I signed up mostly because the bashford antiques saga was one of the most fascinating things I've ever read and just everything about the way you investigated and wrote about it was perfect and I desperately want to get in on the ground floor of anything else you do
I really love Webworm and I also love the community it has behind it! Reading the comments from much cleverer people articulating my muddled thoughts exactly is so great (especially in a world where reading comments is typically a rage inducing thing to do).
Thank you for creating it, I’m looking forward to what’s to come! Take care x
The comments have restored my faith in humanity. Smart, quite funny, and just a good read. And I am learning from them, too. Makes me very happy. Thanks for the support, Robyn.
Really pleased to be able to help out here a little in return for so much great content, especially as reading it has been so helpful during such a weird period. Honestly it's allowing me to learn about so much stuff I just had no idea about too (half human carrot/parsnips for one.) Thanks David
Until i saw the latest two posts, i was happy and content to use and abuse you for free... but i'm actually going to subscribe (if you knew me, you'd know that i hate spending money, i've only ever paid for 1 app in my life..).. :-)
Hey Andrew, appreciate the kind words. Only do this if it's financially viable - honestly, the free stuff will keep coming, too. Or - try it - if it's a stretch, cancel,
I did it and I am not disappointed :-) 'The Luka Letters' has also prompted me to seek out 'Tickled' as I've not see it yet! It'll make a nice addition to our Saturday night, staring at the TV box because we can't go out (children). Keep up the good work sir :-) !
Hiya, quick question: are you still doing anything with the Cryptid Factor podcast? (I've been quarantining myself from the internet too, so I'm not as up-to-date with things as I could be, sorry) Also: do you have a shop or anything where one could purchase an autograph, etc? You're such an inspiration of mine, I'd love to have one for my collection. Anyway, cheers ✌️
Hey! I stepped away from CF to pursue doc stuff! The boys still do it now and then though!
I don’t really do autograph stuff — but more than happy to if we bump into each other etc. It just feels a bit too “celeb” for me and I’m not that guy! I’d rather just have a good chat when if we cross paths!
I may at some stage make some Webworm tee shirts?! I’ll sign the label of one of those, how’s that?!
I love reading your newsletters, I eagerly gobble them up whenever they are released. As an avid podcast listener, there’s nothing that perks my ears up more than a David Farrier podcast. Yes please!!
Thanks Rachael. Glad you're digging. And yeah, gonna keep thinking on the podcast thing. Only want to do it if I can be consistent or it logically compliments these newsletters. Thanks for the feedback though, it's good to know it's "wanted"!
Happy to support your work any way I can! I love your stuff, currently rewatching Dark Tourist as a nice covid distraction. Thank you for putting your work out there - you've inspired me to start my own projects. Stay safe, much love ✌️
DEFINITELY start a Webworm podcast, David. I don't even listen to podcasts regularly but I will if there is a Webworm podcast. I'm also very much looking forward to getting your insights into documentary film-making. I got in touch with you a while back and mentioned I am a recent film and media graduate. You expressed that the doc/filmmaking/tv industry is a great place to work if the passion is there. I'm excited to see what other advice, tips, and tricks you have, especially since documentary film-making isn't my forte but I would like to know more!
Cheers Ali. I will definitely work on those posts - figuring out what stuff I can pass on. And it's good to know you're into the idea of a podcast. A lot of my stories here come with interesting people attached, and at times I think it could be nice to hear from them....
I’m subscribed. I did the thing! I honestly can’t imagine my life without this little page, it was such a comfort during the lockdown. I’m excited for all things to come and the guided tour through the oddities and mist. Timothy x
I've always enjoyed your writing! Followed you with the super bizzare Tickled stuff, watched your Dark Tourist series with lots of interest, and I don't even remember how I came across your Webworm semi recently but it's so worth the "investment". I do the same with a couple of other very entertaining writers and get something so different from each of you! I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this!
Sarah - cheers for following all my stuff. It takes me ages to make the doc stuff, so having this as an outlet for the weird and wonderful in-between that stuff feels good. Thanks for your enthusiasm.
Hello from Wellington. Your writing was a real buoy for me during the lockdown. I love reading Webworm and can't wait for the Luka Magnotta letter rundown. If you come to Wellington, I will buy you a pizza from Moon Bar and introduce you to my Galah, Biko. (This offer only applies on Wednesdays when pizzas are $10).
This is so neat to hear, honestly. Glad I could help even a tiny little bit over that weird, unknown time. I fucking love Galah's and would dead take you up on this. Count me in.
I had already subscribed before I read this post, and then I got to the part where you just CASUALLY mention that Luka Magnotta wrote you? Way to bury the lead, pal!
I'm glad to be helping out, though! I always get weird looks from people when I say I have a favourite journalist, like they can't comprehend that I pay attention to people who provide entertainment that aren't solely in tv/books/music. But I guess you take the top spot in that category! More than happy to put my money towards this project to keep it coming.
Heh, didn't wanna talk it up too much. But yeah, it is kinda slightly "woah". Thanks for the support - it means a lot - and fuck, I think it's great to have a fav journo. I have my own favourites too. Thanks for being so kind, and I hope you keep enjoying the stuff I do.
Make an onlyfans pls👅👅
Just of my feet, right?
Ofc👁👄👁
I feel like the Luka Magnotta thing was skipped over - can we come back to that asap please?
I will be writing that up soon, methinks. Stay tuned.
Always!

Lisa, thanks so much! You will be pleased to know that more is coming on Bashford's. It gets... stranger. Thanks for coming on board!
I was so excited to see your Clamped teaser from the other week, you're so good at unraveling all these bizarre threads. You are a national treasure
I will happily take that trophy and put it on the shelf! (it's an empty shelf, there are no other trophies there)
International treasure. :)

Bizarre = good. Yay!

This is like the best comment I could ever dream of. The entire intent behind Webworm in one paragraph! Thanks Joseph.

I totally respect that, and absolutely I would be first in line for one of those shirts!
Have a great day :)

Thanks David. That would be swell. And I agree, it would be so cool if you could get guests on board with the podcast!
I’m in...i like your job and your point of view on the life.
Hey! Thanks, that is nice to hear. Glad you dig. Welcome.

Tim - thanks! Wow! This is kind. Look forward to having you here.
