Auckland Webworm Popup!
Details of the popup in Auckland, and how to get your Tickled tickets
Hi,
I’m doing a Webworm popup in Auckland, New Zealand on July 13th from 3pm - 6pm— and I’d love you to come.
I’ll be hanging out from 3pm at the Hollywood with Jess Johnson, who’s bringing a whole bunch custom Webworm merch (including caps, tees and stickers).
I’ve also invited my friends along with their own wares: there’ll be cookies, kimchi pancakes, cat merch, a bar, erotic fiction and vinyl.
Then at 6pm I’ll be holding a Tickled screening followed by a Q&A, which has a few tickets left:
Paying Webworm subscribers can get free comp tickets for the film and Q&A here, while they last!
Everyone else can purchase a few remaining tickets here.
After I’ll be holding a Tickled screening which has a few tickets left:
Paying Webworm subscribers can get free comp tickets for the film and Q&A here, while they last!
Everyone else can pick up a few remaining tickets here for $19 each here, while they last.
The Popup (anyone can come, no tickets required):
It’s going to be at the Hollywood in Avondale, and will be running from 3pm - 6pm.
Date: Saturday July 13th
Time: 3pm — 6pm
Where: The Hollywood — 20 Saint Georges Road, Avondale, Auckland
What: Stalls, fashion, furries, surprises, drinks, snacks, hangs! Bring cash if you want to get fun things.
Please bring cash — that is the easiest way if you wanna buy stuff!
It’ll be a bit like the popup we did in Los Angeles: Me and Jess Johnson will be bringing a bunch of Webworm merch — including some from the online store, as well as some custom stuff that’ll only be at the popup.
Anyone is welcome to come to the pop-up (no tickets required) — so tell your friends (if they’re nice).
I will also have some friends coming with their own lil’ stores — so please support these wonderful Kiwis!
David Perry and Skinny from 1:12 Records is bringing a bunch of great vinyl — the label carries acts like The Cavemen, Bloodbags, Rip Ship, The Raw Nerves, Echo Ohs, Magic Factory… it goes on and on.
There will be fresh cookies for sale thanks to my friend Emma Dickson, infused with classic Kiwi chocolate.
Ginger from Ginger’s Pantry will be set up cooking some delicious kimchi pancakes — also a delicious dinner snack before the film.
There’ll be a bar thanks to our friends at the Hollywood — alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages alike.
And Fang & Fur is bringing cat merch you didn’t know you needed, from ramen bowl cat beds to chainsaw cat toys to very potent organic catnip.
Finally, I am a big fan of Samuel Te Kani and his erotic fiction — so am very happy he’s at the pop-up. He will add a slightly chaotic element to the afternoon, offering some terrible life advice as a self-taught tarot reader.
He will also have some copies Please, Call Me Jesus for sale — his book of excellent short stories.
This Webworm popup is mostly a chance to come for a casual hang out during the afternoon — come say hi, ask any questions you might have, pick up some merch, support some cool Kiwis, and have a beverage.
I’d encourage you to stick around and eat some yummy kimchi pancakes to fill your bellies before taking in a screening of Tickled at 6pm.
For the Tickled bit of you evening, you’ll need tickets:
Tickled Screening + Q&A (must have tickets!)
Following the pop-up is a Tickled screening at 6pm — an event you need tickets for. I’ll already have chatted to you a the popup, but if you have further Tickled-specific questions I’ll be doing a Q&A after the film.
Paying Webworm subscribers can get free comp tickets for the film and Q&A here, while they last!
Everyone else can purchase a few remaining tickets here.
Date: Saturday July 13th
Time: 6pm: Tickled screening
7.45pm: Q&A
8.15pm: End of night!
See you at the popup, and the screening! Make a day of it!
I’ll be in the comments to answer any questions you might have.
David.
