Many years ago, I got into a confrontation with my friends much, much older flatmate, who popped off into a completely unhinged tirade. All I remember is her saying she had a gun and shouting accusingly at me "And you have blue hair!"
It really was a lovely event, thank you for putting it on! 🌈
Those kimchi toasties were the best thing I've eaten in months! Melty, tangy goodness on a wintry afternoon.
And I met a really cool Worm there named Elaine - hi Elaine! I wanted to chat longer with you but I have sensory issues and the room was noisy af. But you made my day by talking to me.
Legend, my bro. Popped in super quick as the family sat in the car hoping to not get towed. I'm not an Auckland native - turns out Avondale is like for away and "not on the way to the North Shore like you said it was, Dad". Awesome to see the support you have for this weird, awesome and important community you gave created. Legend.
By the time I realised that I am not just a responsible mum, but also a fully autonomous adult with a job who could absolutely fly from Australia to NZ for 48hrs to attend this pop up, the tickets had sold out. I won't make the same mistake again! I'm glad it was so successful and enjoyed ❤️
I am reading this in bed, getting ready to start my day. I watched the ‘warmup’ story by Sam. Perhaps just as well John went to the rugby 😂 It was a hoot, final mention of Paddy Gower made me laugh too.
As for the blue hair, it was pink the last time I looked! Old ladies ‘the blue hair brigade’ have been doing it for many moons. The only problem with those hair colours is you have to strip the natural colour out, so it’s tough on the hair.
When my youngest daughter was about 8, with a boyish bob, she wanted to dye her hair red. I got one of those spray on coloured hair sprays. Supposed to last about 6 washes. It was, however, pretty permanent till it grew out!! I had to endure censoring comments about my parenting. I really didn’t mind and she was a great little red head.
Well this newsletter just made my whole day!! I'm recovering from surgery, so I needed a good pick me up, so thank you for sharing! I'm so glad the event was a success--I'm not surprised though! I hope to make it to a pop-up one of these days! In the meanwhile, I'll cheer you on from afar! Also, I dig the blue hair!
Aw, that is so kind. I will email you, though please don't feel any pressure to send something. You and the Webworm community are what I'm here for. Thank you David!
Omg Sam's story was better than Bridgerton, need more, like so much more!!!! Where can I please get the dinosaur 🦖🦕 earrings, they are perfect. Big love to all the people involved, the designs of all the merch are wonderful. Looked like an epic event. And most importantly we need Chloe to be the next PM , please.
Earing were from dangerfield and I have a matching skirt! Looking forward to rocking with my new 'worms' tee that I bought for me and my dad to match. 😍
With all the things on the planet to get upset about, why would you choose blue hair? People are so weird - not the ones with the blue hair, but the ones who judge them!
You cannot trust someone with blue hair! I was talking to my friend Dan about what is *my* blue hair.
I think I struggle trusting someone that wears a cowboy hat. Like if my doctor gave me advise while wearing a cowboy hat, I'm not sure I'd trust him! We all have our blind spots I guess....
Yeah. My doctor in nz about 6 years ago had cowboy boots. I never really trusted him.
Then my appendix burst (didnt realise. Have IBS and had recently birthed 3 humans so pain tollerance was iffy), and my hubby took me to him. I could barely walk. So much pain. He sent me for STD tests! Luckily a friend drove me to hospital a few days later before I died! Don't trust blue hair or cowboy boots! 🤩
What a fun event with goodness, deliciousness and blue hair! We need some brightness in our lives at the moment. Maybe a pop up at the Waiheke Community Cinema one day? It's a lovely volunteer run cinema with donated old couches and comfy cushions.
Noted. I think Wellington and Christchurch are the key places I need to add next time - I need to figure out how to cater to people outside of the Auckland zone!
"Ok Milhouse"
Really, really good.
Love the hair! Hilarious that it riles people so much

I have two words for you David. Wellington. Popup. Please brighten our world down here, it's a hard place to be right now.
I really do want to find a way to sort more time, and resources to travel more. Noted.
Webworm On Tour!!

I enjoyed talking to you too.
Very glad you located each other here!

This is a very funny image and I am so appreciative that you snuck in (and sorry to your family!)

Hit me up next time and I will squeeze you in! There is always a way! (people always bail at the last minute so there is *always* a spare few seats!)
I have booked for Sydney! I learned my lesson 😁

Blue hair, blue hair, blue hair.
Hard to blame them as the primitive human brain distrusts what it is not use to.
Some people have a bit more time required in the Evolution Oven, maybe another 50 years and they will be done?
Ok Milhouse is pretty funny though!
The Milhouse line made me literally laugh out loud.

Yes to all this.

Te Wai Pounamu next time for your Southern friends ?xx
Noted. I do want to figure out a way to get a run of free time and book in a string of places.
The blue hair looks good! Like an anime character but in a good way.
Glad the pop up went well! I'll make one one of these days! Those cookies look delicious!

Wow, I ADORE your hair!
Looks like such a neat event - sorry I couldn't make it. It is a beautiful thing when a bunch of different people get together for a united purpose. That is something really joyful. Fancy being triggered by blue hair! https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/dame-edna-everage-blue-hair-old-lady--134474738846606362/
