I was thinking of writing a comment about the importance of gathering F2F IRL but then I read Scott Schalchlin's comment on your ‘How Are You Doing’ post. He said what I wanted to say, but better. So I’ll just quote him here.
“I was once given this advice and I have cherished it: “Bloom where you’re planted.” We can’t control everything, but we can touch the lives of those we come into contact with and whether we are doing a menial job or “important one,” whether we are talking to friends, family, or strangers, whether we have a big audience or small - it all comes to being our best where we are in that moment. For me, it’s kind of a blend of living in the moment and loving my neighbor. And, of course, my neighbor is who I come into contact with in any form.”
I’m not sure I ended up in this cool club that I suddenly feel way not cool enough to belong to lol. I’ve never felt quite so middle-aged suburban mum 😳😂 - but thanks for accepting me anyways x
Mainly I was just so, so happy how diverse the crowd was. I was afraid I would just look around and see people like me, but that was really not the case. Ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, all over the place. Made me so happy.
From the land of the long white cloud to the city of stars, weaving wonders with Webworm. Love hearing about all these super cool peeps out there! Keep up the solid work D Fiddy.
Lovely to hear the popup was a roaring success, stoked to see all the happiness, tie dyed clothing, smiley people photos and dogs. I also find delight knowing the amazing cookie maker Rachel's last name is Loaf. Very apt.
I am ok, stressed out and working towards managing it, breathing, concentrating on the good things happening in life, celebrating the wins of loved ones. Much aroha to all struggling, hang on in there!
It was so fun to chat with Jess about Roswell, and meet the guys from Everything is Terrible. I can’t wait to hang my Gerbert and Psalty posters in my office!
I will freely and openly admit I spent more time looking at the dog and cookie photos than any others. But I'm sure the merchandise is awesome too. And when scrolling through quickly, I mistook Bobby for David and wondered when he had time to grow a mustache like that. 😂😂

Great thoughts, thanks for this
Fuckin A, needed that.
Fabulous! So glad it was such a success & so much fun David. Will definitely get to your next meet up here in Aotearoa.
Cool - planning one at the moment, just sorting logical NZ time in regards to seeing family, and some fun pop up stuff on the side!
Oh does that mean you’ll have one in the glorious BOP?! #bop
I think just for logistics it has to be Auckland. Makes me sad. Want to call into my old school, Bethlehem College...
I get it. Make the masses happy. I’ll try to travel up anyway. Next time!
Keep July 13 in your diary....
Done!! 👍
It was a lot of fun! Thanks for setting it up.
Please let Rachel know her cookies are delicious. I'm sure she already knows, but just in case she needs reminding.
I have let her know, so many times. I also ate about 5 on the day. God they were good.
I bet a WHOLE lot more of us have worms than we realize... sorry for that thought.
Love the merch and looks fun.
Oh, I bet we do!!!
Maybe we need an episode on parasites and worms unique to the US of A on Flightless? Haha.
This event looks SO COOL 🤩

PS you are definitely cool enough.
I love that for you, and for me! 🥰
I feel the same way! But rest assured you belong here!
*how I ended up

To be fair it's Lo, but very much enjoy thinking it is Loaf myself.
Breathing is key. Or so I hear. I am trying to do that too.
Oh shit, how did my brain read Loaf?? I clearly need a holiday!
Oh, loaf is written on her lil' card! You do not need a holiday.
Online name = Rachel Loaf
IRL name = Rachel Lo!
Such a fun time!
So, so happy. And really happy the other lil' stores I invited were also happy and sold stuff etc!

Bobby has a GREAT mo.
And hey - looking at those dogs and cookies is why I included them. I support it!
